Alcoa Inc. has announced that it is re-aligning its business unit that serves the aerospace, automotive, transit, construction and oil and gas markets in an effort to accelerate growth. With this move, the New York City-based aluminum maker also added two new chief operating positions. As the economy improves the company is switching to a growth mode, said Joyce Saltzman, manager of corporate communications, of the company’s plans for the engineered products and solutions business. Under the changes, Chris Ayers joins the company as chief operating officer of Alcoa Cast, Forged and Extruded Products, handling forgings and extruding, power and propulsion and oil and gas businesses. Olivier Jarrault has been promoted to the new position of chief operating officer of Engineered Products and Building Systems, handling Alcoa fastenings, wheels and transportation products and building and construction systems.
