Long-term supply agreement

23 July 2010

Firth Rixson Ltd has announced a new long-term agreement to supply Pratt & Whitney with “the predominate share” of its seamless ring forging requirements, covering the full range of commercial and military aircraft engines that Pratt & Whitney producers. Firth Rixson produces rolled rings for aerospace, automotive, power generation, railway, and other markets at four plants in the US, one in England, and one in China. The group also produces open- and closed-die forgings, and presently is building its first US closed-die forging plant in Georgia. Late last year, Firth Rixson and Pratt & Whitney Canada extended their ongoing supply arrangement into a new purchasing agreement to run through 2021.
